Mobile Free Pharmacy in Gastonia on Friday
The Gaston County community may be struggling to purchase the medical supplies they need. Because of this, NC MedAssist in partnership with Atrium Health brings its Mobile Free Pharmacy to Gaston County on February 7th, 2020 at the Erwin Community Center (913 Pryor Street, Gastonia, NC 28052) from 9 am to 2 pm. The event is open to any individual or family needing over-the-counter medications. Identification is not required, but individuals must be 18 years of age or older.
Individuals who attend the event will obtain free OTC items for their family or home. Information on enrolling in the NC MedAssist Free Pharmacy Program will also be available to attendees. NC MedAssist’s overall goal is to help ease the burden for those who are making the choice between buying food or purchasing medication. “Atrium Health is proud to partner with NC MedAssist to bring the Mobile Free Pharmacy event to Gastonia,” said Emily Wilson, Senior Manager of Community Engagement and Corporate Responsibility with Atrium Health. “The event is expected to have a huge impact on the community. Our mission at Atrium Health is to bring health, hope, and healing to all and what better way than to partner with NC MedAssist to do so. We know that even with insurance, many individuals cannot afford OTC medication.”

She shared, “Together with Atrium Health, we are bringing free over-the-counter medications, like Tylenol and Band-Aids, to area residents. No one should ever go without medicine and the Mobile Free Pharmacy Program enables us to reach those who are unaware of our free resources.”
NC MedAssist is a statewide non-profit pharmacy, founded in 1997. The organization provides free prescription medication to low-income, uninsured North Carolinians. NC MedAssist offers three programs that address the needs of children and adults: the Free Pharmacy Program, the Mobile Free Pharmacy, and the Senior Care Program.
