Merancas Foundation Continues Support of Medication Access and Economic Mobility in the Charlotte Region

NC MedAssist is proud to announce continued grant support from The Merancas Foundation, a philanthropic partner that has supported NC MedAssist’s mission for more than a decade.

The funding will help strengthen NC MedAssist’s efforts to support access to free prescription medications for uninsured and low-income individuals in and around the Charlotte region. Funding will also supportinitiatives that promote economic mobility for individuals facing barriers to employment.

“When people can consistently access the medications they need, they are better able to work, care for their families, and build long-term stability, said Brenda Vass, CEO of NC MedAssist. “We are incredibly grateful to Merancas Foundation for continuing to invest in the opportunities for improved health and well-being of our community.”

Founded in Charlotte, The Merancas Foundation invests in organizations and programs that create pathways to opportunity, stability, and long-term success for local individuals and families. Through its continued support for NC MedAssist, the foundation is helping to address one of the most significant barriers to financial stability and workforce participation: access to affordable healthcare and medications.

“Merancas has a deep commitment to this community, and it shows in their partnerships with safety-net organizations caring for the people who need it,” said Vass. “We are so grateful for the incredible impact they have helped to make.”
