Project Delivering Hope: WNC

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, NC MedAssist launched Project Delivering Hope: WNC to ensure uninterrupted access to critical medications and health supplies for individuals and families across Western North Carolina.

Thanks to the support of community partners and donors, we’re helping our neighbors recover by providing free prescription medications, over-the-counter relief, and personalized pharmacy services to those impacted by the storm.

Since launching, Project Delivering Hope: WNC has distributed thousands of medication care packages and hosted dozens of outreach events, directly serving families and individuals throughout the region. The program continues to meet urgent health needs in vulnerable communities, ensuring equitable access to essential medications and supporting long-term recovery across Western North Carolina.

For Organizations & Community Partners

Since the early days of Hurricane Helene, we have been honored to stand alongside you in answering the call to support the people of Western North Carolina. Together, we’ve ensured that over-the-counter medications have reached those who needed them most — whether through direct deliveries to partner organizations or new efforts to reach individuals in need.

Effective immediately (June 19, 2025), NC MedAssist will no longer provide OTC medication care packages directly to organizations in Western North Carolina.
This difficult decision is due to a significant decrease in both funding and the availability of donated medications. Moving forward, we will fully transition to distributing OTC medications directly to individuals through Project Delivering Hope and our Mobile Free Pharmacy events.

For organizations still in need of personal care items, you may continue to place orders through the Diaper Bank of North Carolina’s online form.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us by emailing info@medassist.org.
