We are incredibly grateful to the Coverys Community Healthcare Foundation, Inc. for its generous $80,000 charitable contribution to NC MedAssist’s Timely Medication Access & Health Outcomes Initiative.
Every day, we see the difference timely access to prescription medications can make for uninsured North Carolinians managing conditions like diabetes, hypertension, asthma, heart disease, depression, and anxiety. For many, receiving medications even a few weeks sooner can mean preventing a health crisis, staying healthy enough to work and care for their families, and avoiding an unnecessary emergency department visit
One patient came to NC MedAssist during one of the hardest times in her life. Living with an autoimmune disorder requiring insulin while raising her family as a single mom, the cost of medications and diabetes supplies felt impossible. She shared, “NC MedAssist relieved that burden and helped me get back on my feet.”
Thanks to Coverys’ support, NC MedAssist will modernize our enrollment process to reduce delays, improve communication throughout the application process, and help eligible patients receive medications more quickly. These improvements will strengthen chronic disease management, improve health outcomes, and allow us to serve substantially more uninsured patients without increasing staffing.
Collaborations like this allow us to continually improve how we serve North Carolinians. We are honored by Coverys’ confidence in our mission and look forward to the lasting impact this contribution will have on the health of our communities.
Thank you, Coverys Community Healthcare Foundation, for helping ensure that cost and administrative barriers never stand between patients and the medications they need.
