CHARLOTTE, N.C.(September 23, 2014) – NC MedAssist is looking for volunteers for their first annual Pancakes for Pills 5K walk/run that will occur on Saturday, November 8. The race starts at 8:00 am and it will be located at the Huntersville United Methodist Church on 14005 Stumptown Road.
Volunteers from local businesses, colleges, community groups, etc. are encouraged sign up online on the race website at http://pancakesforpills.racesonline.com/volunteer. Volunteer positions needed for the day of the event will include attendants for registration/packet pick up, parking, water stops, course monitors and the pancake breakfast.
Proceeds from the race will help raise money for the efforts of NC MedAssist, a nonprofit pharmacy program dedicated to providing lifesaving prescription medications to North Carolina residents who are low-income and uninsured.
Volunteer coordinator, Misty Moore, commented on the need for volunteers, “Our OTC program is volunteer driven. Just as our OTC GAD events, this event will be relying highly on volunteers to make it all happen! Volunteers play a huge role in the success of our events- this one included. This will be a fun volunteer opportunity and very family friendly- and there are pancakes involved!”
