CHARLOTTE, N.C.(September 11, 2014) – Save the date, the Over the Counter (OTC) Medicine Giveaway Day hosted by NC MedAssist will also include a free flu clinic sponsored by Walgreens Pharmacy. The event will be held on Friday, September 19 from 9 am to 4 pm in the Children and Family Services Building on 601 E. 5th Street, Suite 350.

The MedAssist OTC medicine program includes a monthly giveaway day that provides adults and children who are low-income with free over the counter medicine. Medicine such as aspirin, children’s cough syrup, allergy medicine and vitamins are just a few items given to families who need assistance.

The addition of the flu clinic with the medicine giveaway day is a joint effort to help those less fortunate prepare for the cold and flu season. Flu shot supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. The day of the event, Walgreens will provide a short form that is required before receiving a shot. Children 14-18 must have a parent present in order to receive a flu shot.
